Where does the money go?
Seventy-five percent of all the money raised through the Komen Orange County Race for the Cure is distributed locally to help women in our diverse communities receive breast health and breast cancer education, screening, treatment and support services. Twenty-five percent of all the money raised through the Komen Orange County Race for the Cure goes to support the Komen Research and Scientific Grant Programs funding groundbreaking breast cancer research.
What is the 125 Fundraising Challenge?
The 125 Fundraising Challenge is a call-to-action for all Race Participants to raise at least $125, the average cost of a Komen funded mammogram. Every $125 you raise could fund a life-saving mammogram through our local grants programs. Take the Fundraising Challenge, save a life.
REGISTRATION TYPES AND OPTIONS
Adult Entry (18 and above) - $35: Individuals who register for the Race can participate in either 5K
or the Kids One-Mile Fun Run & Family Walk and will receive a Race T-shirt.
Youth Entry (6-17) - $25: All registered youth can participate in either 5K or the Kids One-Mile Fun Run & Family Walk and will receive a Race T-shirt depending on youth size availability.
Kids for the Cure® (Kids up to age 5) - $5: All registered kids can participate in either 5K or the Kids One-Mile Fun Run & Family Walk and will receive a Race T-shirt depending on youth size availability.
Seniors (Age 65 and older) - $25: Individuals who register for the Race can participate in either 5K or the Kids One-Mile Fun Run & Family Walk and will receive a Race T-shirt.
Breast Cancer Survivor Entry - $25: Survivors will receive a special survivor T-shirt and recognition items. By registering as a survivor, you are consenting to receive survivor materials.
In The Pink and In The Pink Survivors - $500: In
the Pink is a special registration category that allows participants to receive
the VIP treatment! Included in this registration is a Komen beach
towel, VIP parking on Race Day, admission to our Race Day VIP area,the 25th Komen Orange County Race for the
Cure Commemorative Medal and special delivery of your gift and Race
In the Pink Team members count toward Team size, but like all categories, the registration fee does not count toward fundraising totals.
Race Team Captains and Team Participants: Starting a Team is a fun way to get others to join you on Race Day. You are not required to be on a Team to participate. For more information on this option and how to start a Team, please visit komenoc.org/race and select the Teams tab.
Sleep in for the Cure® - $40
Participants may take part in the Race without attending. Participants will count toward the overall team size and fundraising goals. T-shirts will be mailed after the Race.
Timing Chip Option - $5
This option is for competitive runners who wish to be timed. Be sure to add the Timing Chip Option during registration. Those who select this option will be placed in a corral ahead of all participants to ensure accurate timing. NEW THIS YEAR: Your timing chip will be located on your bib; you will not receive a shoe tag.
Option - $10
Select this option if you wish to have your Race packet mailed to you before the Race. Deadline for this option is Monday, September 5, 2016.
Day of Race: $40 for ALL participants except Kids for the Cure will remain at $5.
How do I register?
How do I submit donations?
When is the last day I can turn in donations and still get
credit for myself/my Team?
All donations must be postmarked by October 31, 2016. Anything turned in after October 31 will not be counted toward a pledge prize but will continue to help in the fight against breast cancer.
What is a Team?
Teams are a great way to unite with family, friends, and co-workers and enjoy the Race day experience together to raise money and find the cure. For more information about Teams, visit the Teams section of this website, or send an e-mail to email@example.com.
How do I volunteer?
Volunteers as young as age 12 may assist us at the Race. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Information about Volunteer Race opportunities may be found in the volunteer section of this website or by clicking here.

What is the Race Day event schedule?

Can I bring a stroller/jogger/wheelchair to the Race?
YES - Participants with baby strollers/joggers and wheelchairs MUST line up behind the appropriate signage at the start line. Also note, that anyone who is on the Race course, regardless of age, must be a registered participant.
Can I use roller blades/skates, scooters or a bicycle?
NO - For the safety of all participants these are discouraged from participating in this event. Thank you for your cooperation.
Can I bring my pet to the Race?
NO - For the safety of all participants, pets, with the exception of service animals, are discouraged from participating in this event. Thank you for your cooperation.
Will there be a Lost and Found?
Items of value that have been turned in will be located at Command Post. Unclaimed items will be available at the Komen Orange County office for 30 days after the event, at which time they will be donated to a local charity.
Where do I pick up my Race T-shirt and materials?
T-shirt and Race packets will be available for pre-Race pick up at our Race Registration Suite in September. More information on the location of the Race Registration Suite and dates coming soon. Team Captains may pick up all T-shirts and Race packets for their Team members.
Can I have my materials mailed to me?
During online registration, you can select to pay $10 to have your materials mailed to you before the Race. The option to select mailing is available only during online registration, and cannot be added once the registration has been completed. Mailing will be available for any participants who register by Tuesday, September 13. All Sleep-In for the Cure participants will have their materials mailed to them after the Race and do not need to select the mailing option.
Where should I park on Race Day?
Participants are highly encouraged to use the off-site parking lots which have shuttle services running throughout the event. More information will be posted as we get closer to Race Day.
Will there be Race Day storage for personal Items?
"Runner's Gear" Check will be available in the Expo. A bag will be provided for you to check your items and you will use the tag provided to label your items for storage.
Are the Races timed?
All Races are self-timed unless you select the "Plus Timing Chip Option" during registration.
Where is the Komen Orange County office?
We are located at 3191-A Airport Loop Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 on the corner of Red Hill Avenue and Airport Loop Drive.
